so it’s been a while and I apologize for that! but i’ve been super busy with school (which I’m glad to say is almost over!)

but there is news! this summer I’ll be working as the music director for the Little Theatre’s summer musical “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!” and I’m going to be doing a vlog about rehearsals and such throughout the whole process! so you’ll get to follow me on my debut directing job

It has come to my attention that I have lots and lots of ideas that I’d like to bring to the attention of the general public. I have many views that do not coincide with my current society and I, though I do not mean to offend, do not agree with the popular trends (religion, philosophy, death, life, etc.) and should therefore explain my views a bit more thoroughly. I hope to bring to light my logics and reasons so that anyone and everyone can understand. I also hope that you can listen with open ears to the apparent “unconventional” mental processes and that they can affect your life in one way or another, be it positive or negative.

I will begin with a general statement of my religious and/or spiritual beliefs as the next post of topics. I also highly and thoroughly encourage you to suggest topics that you’d like to talk about! Please let me know if you have any questions.

yeah, i’m watching American Pie right now, so i had to

it’s been quite a long time since last i posted! so i am just updating. not much has changed probably. i’m kind of bored with my life. i don’t have much going on. I’m on spring break right now so i actually have nothing else going on.

I’ve been thinking a lot about some emotional stuff and some spiritual/metaphysical stuff lately. I may post about it later.

but right now, back to the hilarious movie

it’s a perfect song for the perfect mood! well, actually any song like “(I’ve Got A) New Attitude” and “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead” (don’t ask…) fits my joyous mood! I’ve changed my views on life and now i’m living high!

I finally got fed up with just sitting around doing nothing and being totally blah. i’m up and happy and can’t wait to tackle the next day, semester, whatever!

I was telling one of my friends about this new-found happiness and then realized that he was in sort of a bad mood, so i apologized for kinda rubbing it in and he said something very wise. He said “well it’s part of being happy! telling everyone about your happiness.” SO THAT’S WHAT I’M DOING! lol

so new attitude, new semester, new life! i’m ready

welcome back

It’s christmas break! and I finally have time to just sit back and relax for a change. It’s a nice breath of air before I get to dive back into the pool of knowledge at school. And it’s quite a shock to my lungs from the breathless semester that was Fall ’08. Let me say, what a Terrible semester it was. I don’t ever want to experience that ever again. There were way too many downs than there were ups…and I’m still feeling some of those, but that’ll be discussed later.

There is one FANTASTIC thing that’s happened, and that has been my musical change of perspective. I watched this amazingly inspiring video of Benjamin Zander speaking at a PopTech! conference and let me just say, WOW. It was completely life-changing and I will never be the same musician that I was. It’s even been apparent to my piano professor, so that’s a plus!

I learned that it isn’t about me! I can finally stop being selfish (something our whole society needs to pick up on) about my music. It’s not about me, it’s about communicating with the listener in a language without words. This has completely revolutionized my playing. I don’t play to show off my own talents; instead I use my talent to show off the music itself! it’s so wonderful and I’m so happy that this happened. Unfortunately that is about the only thing that was good about this past semester.

Lots of drama happened that i just didn’t deserve, but always the optimist that I try to be, I’ve seen the good sides of things and I’ve learned from the mistakes of others and myself.

There is one car of this rollercoaster of my life that is still riding low, and that is loneliness. It’s something that I probably shouldn’t talk about because it’s not very attractive to “potentials” and it usually breeds pity (which i definitely don’t want)…BUT i’m going to talk about it anyway. So, i’m sick of being lonely, yeah. I just want someone to come home to at the end of the day and cuddle up with, maybe watch tv until we fall asleep. something other than this unwanted solitude that I keep experiencing. I just want a real constant person in my life. I’ve had it before and I loved it. I want it again. blah i hate that…lets move on to another subject, shall we?

Choir. We are going on tour starting jan. 4th! yay! I’m actually going to be up at Mount for new years this year to celebrate with friends instead of my family. I know that makes me a terrible person, but I don’t get out much when i’m at home, so it’s good for me. anyway, i’m staying until tour, so technically my break at home ends new year’s eve!

Choir tour should be fun this year. We sound pretty good considering. I mean, I’ve heard some phenomenal groups…and they’ve basically made sweet love to my ears, so my ears are no longer “amazing music” virgins. So of course I’m going to compare our sound to their sound. I want us to sound like that! I want us to sound good. However, we have come very far in a semester, so I guess I can settle for that. I guess I am just more of a Producer rather than an Educator when it comes to music. I want whatever is performing to sound good rather than have it sound mediocre with more educational benefits to the students. Call me…oh what would you call me? lol.

Anyway, hopefully I’ll be able to update this a little more frequently. It is by no means any “vienna monologues” but then again, I don’t have that opportunity to spend 4 months in austria

to those of you who listen to the wonderful music out there right now by artists like Rhianna, Leona Lewis, or even Michael Jackson. to those of you who idolize the glamor and glitz of the Hollywood life. to those who really just can’t get enough of E!. to those of you who would rather watch American Idol than, oh i don’t know, exercise your mind a little by reading a novel. to you precious ignorant beings:

you will never know what life is.

my audience, the media-washed: you will never understand my music. my audience, the feeble minded: you will never experience what power is held in knowledge. my audience, the medi-hypochondriacs: you will never know what it’s like to feel instead of see.

it disappoints me to say this, but my music will only be understood by the few who dare try. (and that will only be a few)

live a little, america! turn off your tv and do something else!
